Home & property inspections

During our home inspections, we will walk with you around your home and property, systematically scanning for any vulnerabilities that will put you at risk.

Our assessment covers:

  • Your home: gutters, eaves, breathing vents, walls, doors, windows, ledges or sills, stilts, decks/verandas, utilities, and existing fire suppression systems. Note that we currently do not cover the inspection of roof spaces, but will provide guidance on how to reduce the risk within your roof space.

  • Your garden: trees/shrubs, fine fuels, access to fire trucks.

  • Other structures: sheds, carports/garages, wood storage, stables, and other structures.

We will explain the process and the findings directly, and provide you with a written report within seven days after the inspection. Our detailed reports include:

  • an overview of bushfire behaviour and general principles for risk reduction;

  • your specific risk findings: what aspects we identified, why they are a risk, and what you can do about these risks; and

  • resources for risk reduction: we provide you with a list of suitable measures and suppliers, thereby making it easy for you to enact our recommendations.

  • Our Inspections are offered to residents of the following Local Government Areas (LGAs):

    • Adelaide Hills Council

    • Alexandrina Council

    • Burnside (City of)

    • Marion (City of)

    • Mitcham (City of)

    • Mount Barker District Council

    • Onkaparinga (City of)

    • Victor Harbor (City of)

    • Yankalilla Council

  • To make a booking, click on the button below to register your interest. Our team will then give you a call to arrange a suitable date, and answer any questions you may have.

    Our inspections cost $690 (including GST).

  • Yes, we currently offer a $200 discount off our regular rates for bookings made by 31 March 2026.

  • If you need to postpone an agreed inspection date, let us know as soon as possible. An alternative date that is mutually acceptable can be rescheduled.

    Please note Firewise Assist will not conduct inspections on days of Extreme or Catastrophic fire danger ratings. In such a case, we will contact you to postpone the inspection.

    If you need to cancel your booking, the following applies:

    • if you cancel more than 72 hours before the inspection date, you will receive a full refund (minus transaction costs)

    • if you cancel less than 72 hours before the inspection date, you will receive a 75% refund.

    • Prior to the inspection, you wil need to sign the disclaimer and acknowledgement of fire risk. Note that we currently do not include the inspection of roof spaces.
